Where Walked:

Where I have been lately is up and down the length of my sidewalk. I'm in Portland, Oregon, where we almost never get snow. I think we're up to 16" now. I've been shoveling snow in my I-don't-know-how-old Pulse mid GoreTex boots, and didn't realize how comfortable I was until I threw on a pair of Danners and froze. I'm warm. I'm dry. I have traction (and when the freezing rain hits and I no longer have traction, I pull on the carbide spikes and continue on my way).

Recommendations:

Um, don't expect anything like this in Portland unless you come this week. Rain is our usual winter fare, and I'm well equipped to deal with that - rain pants, raincoat, and bike.
